Shoutout to The Sandtray MVPs!

Last edition we touched on the fact that everyone's kinda hanging by a thread, right?

We therapists are all doing the best we can...but we are tired, mentally drained, and sometimes just struggling to get through the day...just bein' real.

However, there are some absolute rock stars coming through for the sandtray community, sharing new ideas and how they are making sandtray therapy work, even in the most difficult of circumstances through telehealth!

I wanted to spend this edition of the Ally just showing love to all of the members who are showing up and sharing their strategies, activities, miniatures, and just support for one another during this difficult and uncertain time.

Featured Miniatures

The last few weeks have been like something out of a Stephen King novel (anyone else getting The Stand vibes? Just me?)... but out of the stress, fear, and downright craziness has come some truly amazing minis! Therapists have made their own awesome miniatures and have come up with activities to guide their clients in making/finding miniatures that perfectly represent how they feel about the world we are living in. Here are some of our faves:

1. Kennedy's Minis -

You guys probably already know how amazing Kennedy's miniatures are, in general. However, these latest designs are so perfect for our current climate and represent the many stressors our clients may be experiencing: fears related to illness, social isolation, scarcity...and there's just a little humor in there, which we all desperately need..."never forget"....

2. SandTrayMinis-

This link was given to us by member Stef Steffers in the free group, ! This shop also has a TON of 3D printed minis that are representative of the emotional toll the virus can take and the changes we are seeing in society....

3. All Of Our Creative Therapists -

We have an amazing community of therapists who are selflessly sharing their homemade creations, activities, and how they are supporting their clients using the "sandtray-ish" techniques that we've been exploring and discussing this month! From scavenger hunts, having clients print pictures of miniatures, draw out their favorite minis, using their most loved minis on our end for them to direct placement/play, or painting minis using rocks or household materials and using rice/bean/whatever trays...you guys are AMAZING, and keep showing up for your clients every. single. day. You are SUPERHEROES and we are so thankful to have you in our community!
