Back to Basics – Week 5
Sandtray Therapy With Adults Mind The Metaphor!
We all know that working with adults can be TOUGH. Often, our adults operate so much in their left-brain that it is really a struggle to build in the tray or get into the emotional stuff. For this Back to the Basics, we\’re going to be digging into everything you need to know about how adults build in the tray, and where to go with processing to get the most out of your sandtray sessions.
When working with adults, it\’s important to have a variety of miniatures for them to choose from. They will typically choose many types of miniatures, from vegetation to abstract themes, so it\’s important to have lots of options so their brain can go where it needs to go.
Just remember, being there, holding space, and providing that neuroception of safety is what allows them to do the work they need to heal.
Don’t always know the right things to say or what prompts to give to go deeper with processing in the tray? No worries! We’ve got you! Stay tuned for next week, when we give you a no fail script and processing prompts to make you a fearless sandtray warrior when working with your adults in the tray.
Until then, check out this video to get a better understanding of how adults build in the sandtray, and how to show up and hold space for those clients.
Until next week!
