The Feelings Song: An Easy, Fun Way to Talk about the Stuff of Therapy
Therapy is challenging. Especially with the little-bitties.
The 3 and 4 year-olds are often somewhat confused about who I am and what therapy is, although I often do the awesome technique discussed in the last blog post.
Sometimes, it just takes some music, dancing and laughter to make it safe enough to talk about the hard stuff.
Just check out these celebrations using the ever-present \”Happy\” by Pharrell Williams. Music helps those bad days a little better.
Music is powerful. It makes us happy, sad, regretful, energetic. So, something that\’s super fun and catchy AND helps my little ones understand the themselves and therapy a little bit better all while teaching is THE BEST (bet you STILL have \”Happy\” in your head don\’t ya?)
Watch this catchy video. Bookmark it to use with your kids when you are struggling with explaining feelings or as a homework assignment for the family to watch together.
Watch it. Let me know in the comments how you may can use this in your practice.
ENJOY!
