24th Edition
Whatt???
It finally happened ya'll - 2020 is behind us.
But, THIS is how I feel about 2021...
2020 was HARD ya'll, like it felt like we lived 10 lifetimes in the past 12 months and we're all just taking a deep breath HOPING that 2021 will be a little nicer to us all.
So with this edition, we're focusing on moving forward.
I'll be giving you info about some cool training opportunities, some helpful articles pertinent to all of us as therapists, and of course some nerdastic sandtray related finds and info.
Before we get to all of the purely sandtray related info, I'm sharing some important articles for all of us as therapists.
As vaccinations start rolling out across the world, we need to be ever more present about the effects of fear, trauma and class divisions in our society - and especially how this gets played out in the sandtray.
All of the these articles contain important info for all of us as therapists
- The Most Common Issues People Brought Up in Therapy in 2020 - The info in this article was not a big surprise to me but it was helpful to hear that others are struggling with knowing how to help clients and then just people in general are having a difficult time, even outside of the therapy office.
- Corona poses 'greatest thread to mental health since the second world war' - Leading psychiatrist in the UK discusses the impact on mental health even after the pandemic is reigned in for people everywhere. He is espousing what many of us feel in our bones - that this trauma will be felt for many generations
- Sandtray/sandplay therapy has made it to TikTok! Here's one of my favorite videos but I encourage you to browse around on the platform - the video linked above has over 250k likes! Go sand therapy!!
- On a lighter note, there's now a hotline for people to call, scream and hang up! It's a real number and you can visit the website to listen to others express their frustration through the phone. Hilarious!

ICST Trainings + Sandtray Suite open enrollment happening January 24, 2021.
We only open enrollment for our ICST trainings once a year and only twice for the online membership program, The Sandtray Suite.
For the ICST program (where you complete training for your sandtray credential), we only have 10 spots each for the 2 cohorts opening on the 24th.
The dates for the in-person portion of the training are
Cohort 1:
May 12-16, 2021 (Levels 1 & 2)
November 10-14, 2021 (Levels 3 & 4)
Cohort 2
June 9-13, 2021 (Levels 1 and 2)
December 1-6, 2021 (Levels 3 and 4)
Again, we'll be opening enrollment on January 24, 2021 for the two cohorts.
Prices include 2 meals per day and lodging + ALL the sandtray trainings and extra stuff.
